How to Come up with a Champion Content Strategy by Merging GA4 with a Business Intelligence (BI) Tool

This entry was posted in Advertising, Content, Marketing, SEO on by .

In October 2020, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) got its formal debut. Due to the 2021 privacy enhancements and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), it has become difficult to track using cookies. Thankfully GA4 has helped fill this gap using machine learning. In addition, GA4 combines application interactions and websites initiated by the same to help you make better marketing decisions.

If you are using User Agent (UA), your website data can be viewed from the moment you start, but after fourteen months, GA4's data expires, and the amount of information you store is cut by seventy-five percent.

Know your business and set goals

Before interacting with your audience, you should know:

  • The content you should create.
  • The topics to discuss.
  • Your industry of specialization.
  • What makes you unique?

It is important to create content that will position you as an expert. Data insights and GA4 drive accuracy; if you take time to study traffic patterns and look for trends of previous success, you can easily identify the topics that will lead to future success.

Identify your audience and positioning

The moment you know what makes you different, you can study your audience. Address them directly in the content you create, analyze the audience engagement, and ensure your approach keeps them engaged. You should also get to know what they like, dislike, and their interests.

Research and pick keywords

Using keyword research will help you find the keywords you are ranking for and those you should be striving to rank for. The first step is looking at the search console performance reports. This will help you identify the pages you are ranking with and the keywords you rank for.

Sneaking around our competitors is not a bad idea either because it will help you discover the keywords you want to rank for. Keyword tools such as Moz and Ahrefs can be quite useful. When you have your keywords in place, develop a keyword cluster for the winning edge you need in competitive verticals.

Create authority through content

It is irrefutable that content brings authority, but clarity comes first. You should define the formats of your content, for example, blogs, videos, or eBooks, and make a decision on how comprehensively you want to cover each one. Creating great content correlates directly to authority and recognition in your industry of expertise.

Be consistent at content creation and publishing.

A study done by Hubspot on 7000 businesses discovered that companies that have over 1000 web pages receive 9.5 times more traffic than those with less than 50 pages. In order to build results that you can always go back to and study, you must be consistent at publishing great content.

Keeping the strategy with post-publishing promotion and calendar

To keep your strategy in place, you must have a budget and an agreement with the other parties involved. Affordable SEO service uses a calendar to develop topics regularly that bring in leads. However, if you do not have a proper promotion strategy in place, this will all be useless. GA4 and other BI tools help you gain insight through monitoring and tracking of content performance.

Connect GA4 and other tools to a BI tool and data warehouse

Content results are usually visible after 12 to 18 months. Data warehouses help to analyze extensive historical data, integrate data, ensure data stability and provide subject-oriented analysis.

There is no one specific tool that will give you all the insight and data you need; you have to add Google Analytics with other marketing tools, your own database, socials, and CRM.

How to Optimize Your Video Content to Outrank Your Competitors

Video content is an excellent way to capture the increasingly shorter attention spans of a distracted and busy audience.

But before you spend time or money on creating videos, you need to consider what your long-term goals are. For example, do you want to build more links and garner more social shares, increase conversion rates, boost high-quality traffic to your site, or build up your authority and reputation?

Only after you clarify your intentions can you generate an efficient video search engine optimization (SEO) strategy that will actually help you accomplish your goals and outrank your competition.

In this article, you’ll learn:

  • What video SEO is
  • Some video SEO best practices
  • Where you should host your video content

What is Video SEO?

It’s important to start thinking of YouTube not merely as a video streaming platform but also as a search engine in its own right. As a matter of fact, after Google, YouTube is the most widely used search engine. And even though Google owns YouTube, the search rules, relevant keywords, and search intent will differ – and your optimization strategies should reflect this.

Search intent on YouTube is more instructional than transactional. For example, someone might peruse Google for the perfect headscarf, but they’re going to turn to YouTube to search for ten ways to style that headscarf.

Video SEO on YouTube provides a unique opportunity for perpetual rankings through suggested “watch next” content if you can tap into certain niches.

You can do this by tailoring your strategy to the platform:

Best Practices for a Tight Video SEO Strategy

Choose or Make Attention-Grabbing - But Relevant - Thumbnails

Think of your video thumbnails as a book cover – it needs to be eye-catching and tell people what the book is about at a glance.

People make split-second decisions to click or scroll by based on these video thumbnails. While YouTube will auto-generate these thumbnails for you, you might end up with an irrelevant or less than flattering still.

You’re much better off choosing or creating your own. You can easily do this via YouTube Studio. Simply log in to the app using a g-mail account, then you can choose the video you want to create a thumbnail for and select from three stills or make your own.

Whichever thumbnail you choose, just remember that you want it to be relevant and professional in addition to interest-grabbing.

Elements to include in your thumbnail include:

  • Clearly stated topic
  • Timestamp for length
  • Eye-catching visuals

Create Relevant Title Tags

Don’t mislead your audience. Intentionally mislabeling your video just to garner clicks is a deception that will only hurt your rankings and your reputation in the long run. Once people realize your video isn’t what they were expecting, they’ll click right back to the result pages. Google and YouTube algorithms take notice, resulting in lower rankings.

To create relevant title tags, simply use a keyword research tool, such as Google’s free keyword planner. You’ll be able to find popular search terms and potentially generate new ideas based on this research.

Write Contextual Video Descriptions

A video description is like the meta description on Google SERPs. It needs to be short and sweet and include a few keywords. Google bots crawl these descriptions to determine how to categorize and rank your content based on search intent.

Things to avoid:

  • Keyword stuffing
  • Luring viewers in with false or misleading descriptions

Things to include:

  • A call-to-action
  • Links to additional content (e.g. “watch this playlist to learn more about x” or “watch my latest video x”)

Tag Your Videos

Tags are a way to help Google and YouTube catalog your videos so users can find you more easily. Video tags are a vital part of the video SEO trifecta: tags, title, and description.

Tagging is a way to ensure your video appears alongside similar and suggested content. Just as with thumbnails, you can use the YouTube Studio app to tag your videos. Just click on the sidebar menu on the right, select “content”, choose the desired video, and start tagging. You can use the app anywhere and across all device types.

Upload a Video Transcript

You won’t have to work very hard to produce great video transcripts if your recorded material is already well-researched, finely crafted, and includes relevant keywords.

Including a transcript supplies more material for Google to crawl, providing you with more opportunities to rank. Additionally, transcripts expand your reach by making your content more accessible to the hearing impaired.

Transcripts appear below your video in the comments and show up in your video’s closed captions. You can add timestamps to your transcripts to make it easier for viewers to navigate to the exact answers they need, which can greatly reduce bounce rate.

Fine Tune Your Strategy with Research

There are various free tools - and affordable experts when you’d rather someone else do it for you - at your disposal to help you create a video SEO strategy that gets results.

Google, for instance, has a free keyword research tool or planner that allows you to hone in on high-ranking keywords relevant to search intent. The tool will tell you how popular a search term or phrase is, how difficult it would be to rank for these terms and related search terms.

Because you’ll likely pull ideas from pre-existing content, this tool is especially useful in preventing keyword cannibalization, which happens when you have too many of the same or similar keywords across content mediums. This confuses search bots and may lead to pages you didn’t intend to highlight ranking higher than the ones you actually wanted to promote.

Another valuable tool is a site audit, which will review your video or website schema to ensure you have the proper HTML tags that allow Google search bots to crawl and catalog your content.

Lastly, you’ll want to monitor backlinks, as they are a crucial part of any SEO strategy, video, or on-page. Backlinks are similar to citations and are simply links from another website to yours. Backlinks are an indication that people find your content useful and relevant, which further establishes your page’s authority and trustworthiness. Backlink audits check for broken or bad links and links that can help you establish relationships.

Where to Post: Your Website or YouTube?

There are pros and cons to hosting your video on your business website and YouTube:

Hosting Your Video on YouTube:

The pros:

  • Already optimized for video
  • Second largest search engine
  • Suggested video features
  • SUBSCRIBE button makes it easier to gain followers
  • Built-in thumbnail and transcript tools
  • Potential to go viral

The cons:

  • Terms and conditions apply
  • YouTube can decide to pull your content if it violates subjective decency standards
  • Difficult to monetize content for your target audience

Hosting Your Video on Your Business Website

The pros:

  • More control over your content
  • No need to agree to another platform’s terms and conditions
  • You can choose if and how much you’ll charge for your content by setting up a paywall

The cons:

  • You might need to pay for more server space, as videos are often large files
  • YouTube is massively popular, so you’ll miss out on the platform’s traffic and incidental reach from “suggested next” recommendations
  • You won’t be able to take advantage of YouTube’s free editing and SEO elements, such as adding tags, transcripts, and thumbnails

The Bottom Line

Here’s all you really need to know:

  1. Video SEO is just as important as on-page SEO.
  2. Your video SEO should be unique and well-researched. It should differ from your on-page optimization strategy. Do not copy and paste!
  3. Use title tags, descriptions, and transcripts to boost your video’s crawlability.
  4. Track your progress.

SeoTuner’s Jeremiah Weilert Is named “The Google Wrangler” by Swagger Magazine

On May 10th, Swagger Magazine released a feature on our co-founder Jeremiah Weilert, referring to him as a self-made man stocked with “gumption and go-getter-ism”. And to think it all started with going door-to-door in second grade to sell polished rocks (which he made a $20 profit off of)!

So how did he go from his rock selling days to running a multimillion-dollar SEO company alongside Tony Durso?

What Inspired Jeremiah to Begin SeoTuners?

Jeremiah used to work in a “cookie-cutter sales role” as Swagger put it, which is typically how the business world works—you have to put in your time at the bottom. Learn the ropes as a cog in the machine of the company, and hope that with enough hard work and overtime, someone in higher management will eventually notice you and invite you to move up a step.

Of course, there’s definitely something to be said for putting in your time to learn the lay of the land while working your way up—but sometimes you can become stuck in a business hierarchy that is not functioning well. This can happen when a company refuses to reconsider the way it does business even though circumstances are changing, or when management consistently

turns a deaf ear to innovative suggestions from employees.

Jeremiah was not unwilling to do the work—he became sales manager within six months of starting the job, and in another six months, he became the director of the whole department. This quick advancement is owed to his driven personality—he was passionate about learning and challenging himself, and willing to pivot his management style when it wasn’t working.

But even in this role with perceived leadership power, he found himself constrained by upper management’s inability or unwillingness to change—which ultimately resulted in the company’s dissolution due to Google’s Penguin update. As he notes in the feature:

“When you get as big as they were, and you can’t pivot, you leave yourself vulnerable to Google,” he recalls. “We were running this ginormous SEO company going, ‘there are so many ways for this to go better,’ but upper management wouldn’t take the advice we gave.”

Jeremiah wanted to create a company that would value the ability to anticipate new changes and welcome innovation—and that’s exactly what SeoTuners became.

Creating An Even Playing Field

Cracking the myth that one had to start at the bottom and slowly move to the top, Jeremiah set out to use SEO to ensure that small, budget-conscious companies could consistently show up on the first page of Google, even beating out major brands.

SeoTuners is all about efficiency, adaptation, and resilience. Rather than doing the same things that used to work before, the business focuses on continually trying new and different things that might work even better. And it turns out, this is exactly the type of attitude that’s needed as Google continues to update its algorithms.

The only way to stay at the top in SEO is to change, adapt, and mold one’s strategy as the digital landscape continues to change. And SeoTuners does this by keeping up to date with all of the latest news, statistics, and algorithm updates that are constantly rolling out.

And as Google’s algorithm continues to favor quality, relevance, and credibility, it becomes easier and easier for businesses (no matter their size or wealth) to rank on the front page so long as they showcase these qualities.

Merit Over Profit

For a multitude of industries, bigger doesn’t mean better. SeoTuners wants to help businesses big or small reach their audience so that they can do whatever it is they do best—and sometimes they have to win out over others who only care about making a profit.

This is especially true when it comes to the drug and alcohol treatment center niche. SeoTuners now works with over a hundred of these organizations across the U.S. to help them rank higher on Google so they can better reach the people who need them.

SEO done right is a way to “level the playing field” and help smaller businesses “compete with the big boys online”. It’s a chance to have how high a business ranks on Google have much more to do with the quality of the service than the budget of the business.

So Why Come to Us?

If anyone can do SEO, why come to us? We offer as many tips and tricks as we can on our website, in our blogs, and on our social media posts. There’s nothing we do that anyone else ultimately can’t do.

This entry was posted in Advertising, Content, Local, Marketing, SEO on by .

The elation of completing a competitive keyword research plan often paves the way to the fear of losing a lot of opportunities. You need to have more than a list of keywords and knowledge of what your competitors are doing by sourcing affordable website SEO services. What will put you in an advantageous position is to know the content that is ranking high and how you are doing on that ladder.

Google search operators are special commands that refine your search capabilities. They boost productivity and help marketers optimize their campaigns. In addition, they give you a glimpse into your competitors' sites so you can come up with greater ideas. By using Google search operators, you can be able to:

Find a competitors' content

As a marketer, one thing you will always aspire to is to get featured on high-traffic sites. Google search operators can help you discover sites in your industry that accept guest posts. Saving you time that you would have wasted searching for the site yourself, and this will help you easily locate a site that your competitors are using to rank highly. The exact formula you can use to search for your competitors' sites is typing in the search bar the "name of the competitor' is" - my competitors website.com and Google will show you where your competitor's author bio is listed apart from their own websites. For example, "Sharon Stone is" - superauthor.com. Google will then proceed to list for you all the sites that Sharon has been mentioned in apart from her own website.

Get better writers by using site

Writers have become a critical component of content making. It has therefore become crucial to find good writers who will help you market your content properly. Search operators can help you find them. If you want to write an article, it is easy to find a writer by doing a simple site search on the publication topic of your interest and choosing one of the many writers who will be listed.

Find your content gaps

To be able to keep up with your competitors or even get better than them, you might need to know what you are missing in terms of content. Let's say, Wordgenious.com is your competitor, and you are aware that they write a lot of content on books, but you are also keen to know what else they write about without having to go through their whole site. By typing in your Google search bar site:Wordgenious.com-intitle:books, you will see all the other topics apart from books that Wordgenious.com writes about. Through this information, you will be able to write content that seems to give your competitors a higher ranking.

These few tips are shared to help you make smart decisions about your content. Search operators are useful in helping locate information quickly. By looking through your competitors' sites, you can tweak and come up with better content that will give you an advantage and let you stand out from your competitors. Better content means more traffic to your website.

How to Find and Fix Duplicate Transactions in Google Analytics

This entry was posted in Advertising, ecommerce, SEO on by .

Google Analytics is the most widely used tool on the web. It reports, tracks, and analyses traffic such as bounce rate and pages per session. Moreover, it provides essential analytics tools for search engine optimization. However, many users undergo the problem of finding and fixing duplicate transactions while using this tool. Here are the steps to help you out.

Before diving into the matter, what are duplicate transactions?

These are over-counted transactions over a specific period and create a mess in your Google Analytics data.

How can you detect a Duplicate Transaction in Google Analytics?

Google Analytics provides affordable SEO services to improve your strategies, but at the same time, more than one transaction can be recorded. If you’ve ever received a GA audit with a record of similar transactions but don’t have an idea of how it came to be, follow these steps to locate one:

Step 1: Create a New Report with a List of Transactions and Transaction ID.

To create a new report with a transaction list, go to Google analytics, press customization, and then create a custom report. After that, add transactions as metric and transaction ID as dimension.

Step 2: Filter Report for Transactions.

After obtaining a new report, save the filtered report by pressing the transactions tab then click the advanced option.

Step 3: View the Total Percentage of Similar Transactions within the Timeframe

Here you’ll view a list of all transactions as well as the total transaction hits sent to Google Analytics.

Now that you have obtained an accurate analytics report of the total percentage of identical transactions in your GA account, you might be wondering how to fix and block them from happening again. Check out the following steps to prevent a recurrence of this issue:

How to Fix Matching Transactions in Google Analytics

These similar transactions can be fixed or prevented by either of the following ways:

Google Tab Manager.

Using a Google tab manager will enable you to block duplicate transactions by using the correct codes. Therefore, you will need to set up a tag to write out a cookie any time a user visits the page. If the user tries a new attempt, it will automatically load a new page.

Server-Side Changes

Another effective way to prevent similar transactions is through the server-side. This is the best and most reliable method to fix similar transactions. Here you are required to send the code only once on a specific page. For better results, use a database record to add a timestamp.

Many people face the challenge of getting more than one transaction in Google analytics. These problems affect your data in several ways such as dropping your data accuracy. Furthermore, they arise when a transaction is sent to GA each time the thank you page is opened. However, there are easy steps to locate and fix the issue. If you’ve just encountered unusual activities that resemble corresponding transactions, follow the steps outlined above to help you detect and fix them.

Ten Tactics to Efficiently Manipulate Google Analytics Data

This entry was posted in Advertising, Content, ecommerce, Local, Marketing on by .

Did you know it is possible to permanently or temporarily manipulate Google Analytics data? If you do not have the correct expertise or know-how, affordable SEO packages can help to boost the traffic to your site.

A lot of people and organizations do not have the knowledge needed to modify Google Analytics data. But learning how to do this can be very powerful to procure stellar business insights. There are two proven methods to manipulate data; temporary and permanent methods.

Permanent Google Analytics manipulation

Being able to permanently manipulate the data collected and shown on Google Analytics can be extremely powerful, but it also comes with several risks.

Here are some tips to permanently manipulate Google Analytics data:

Data import

Data import allows you to join your offline business systems data and the online data collected by Google Analytics. It is instrumental because it helps you organize, analyze, and act on this data set in ways that are more aligned to your unique and specific business needs.

There is a variety of data that you can upload to Google Analytics:

  1. Hit data
  2. Extended data - this can be user, content, product, geographical, or custom data.
  3. Summary data

Google Analytics filter

This strategy is ideal if you want to manipulate data in a report view. You can productively use Google Analytics filters to:

  1. Help collect data on your primary target.
  2. Remove third-party and employee IP addresses from your information.
  3. Excluded once all technical query parameters
  4. Setting up a separate test view in Google Analytics is critical if experimenting with filters to avoid completely ruining your Google Analytics.

Google Tag Manager

Implementing the Google Tag Manager (GTM) is a more practical approach to manipulating and tracking data collected through all the available options in GTM.

Temporary Google Analytics manipulation

You can temporarily modify your Google Analytics data in several ways. It is usually advantageous because you get better insights when you receive different views of your data.

Here are some tips to temporarily manipulate Google Analytics:

Report filters

Report filters fall into two categories: standard and advanced.

A standard report filter allows you to filter the first dimension of your report, which can be limiting at times. On the upside, it is straightforward to work with.

On the other hand, an advanced report filter allows you to add multiple selections for the reports you are looking at. In addition, it allows you to further drill down on the Google Analytics data that you would like to review.

Segments

Segments are probably the most excellent features you can find on Google Analytics. They allow you to manipulate ad-hoc and retroactive data in very effective ways. Since Google Analytics allows you to compare data for different audiences, applying a segment is a very strategic check that every marketer and analyst should know.

Hopefully, the tips above have given you better insight into how you can manipulate your Google Analytics data. However, it would help if you exercise caution when permanently modifying your Google Analytics data or, to be on the safe side, use affordable SEO packages from a reputable company to avoid completely messing up your data.
