This entry was posted in Advertising, Marketing, SEO on by .

Think you know everything there is to know about SEO? Here are 10 facts and statistics you might not have heard - all about how SEO is poised to continue dominating the marketing industry in 2020 and beyond!

93% of Online Engagements Begin with a Search - and 75% Don’t Go Past the First Page

Most people know that online searches are an important part of finding the things we need in today’s society. Before we make purchases big or small, we often type up a quick query about the goods or services we are interested in. Good SEO means capitalizing on that.

But did you know that about three out of four searchers never look past that first page of search results? That’s why it’s so important to get your link on that first page and get those clicks!

Search Engines Still Tower Over Social Media for Website Traffic

We might be tempted to think that social media is the driving force of the marketplace in the modern-day, but it still has nothing on SEO! Search engines are still the primary vehicle to get consumers to your site - and are likely to remain that way.

Searches Are Increasingly Mobile

About 60% of searches on Google are conducted on mobile devices. Optimizing your site for this type of search is an important part of modern SEO.

And Many More of Those Searches Are Voice-Driven!

Of the many mobile searches being conducted every day, over a quarter of these are conducted via voice input. This is one more aspect of SEO that is changing, as the approach adapts to the way people talk when performing voice searches.

Mobile Will Likely Dominate the Marketplace By 2021

How big is mobile? In the world of online shopping, it drives around half of the market - and is anticipated to take the majority by 2021. No wonder SEO experts are tailoring their approaches to this reality.

Around Half of Searches Contain at Least Four Words

Speaking of tailoring your SEO approach, half of the searches being conducted contain four or more words. That means adapting your SEO terms and phrases to account for this - and improving the text that contains them.

Local SEO is a Huge Part of the Overall Approach

Remember, local SEO results are some of the most important. Consumers often make their searches from inside the store they’re shopping or based on nearby results. Getting accurate information online for these local consumers will help you drive sales ever-upward.

SEO Continues to Be a Great Value

Affordable SEO service is one of the least expensive approaches and also one of the most effective. Its return has been shown to be better than many other methods, making it an excellent value for your marketing dollar.

Content Creation and Marketing is a Proven Successful Method

Creating original content is and has consistently been the most successful way to garner traffic for your company’s website. Nearly 60% of SEO industry experts believe that content creation is the foremost driving force when it comes to creating interest and generating conversions, so focusing on high-quality content continues to be a priority.

SEO is the Way Forward in the Post-COVID Marketplace

The COVID-19 pandemic has reshaped the global economy - possibly forever. People are seeing the major advantages of shopping and researching products and services online and have turned to their computers and phones more than ever for the things they need. As such, it’s only natural that a solid SEO approach is critically important to business success in 2020 and will likely continue to be for many years to come!

10 Facts on Why You Should Focus on SEO in 2020

This entry was posted in Advertising, Content, Local, Marketing, SEO on by .

There is a misconception that SEO is an outdated marketing strategy. Because it has been employed for so many years, there are many businesses who think it’s best to move past this reliable standby and find new approaches to marketing.

The fact is, SEO is a widely-used industry standard for a reason. It is one of the most effective methods of marketing - and also one of the most affordable. Here, we’ll show you a handful of reasons why SEO is still number one in 2020 and beyond:

Organic Search Results Work

Today’s consumers spend a lot of time researching the products and services they invest in. That’s why search results are so important. High-ranking results that seem entirely organic are a proven way to get your brand in front of consumers’ eyes and into their minds. This kind of organic advertising is ultimately the best way to get the clicks you want and the traffic your business needs.

SEO is Affordable

Perhaps one of the best things about SEO continues to be that it is an affordable addition to your overall marketing strategy. Its cost is lower than almost any marketing approach but yields demonstrable results, making it an incredible value for your investment. Indeed, investing in affordable SEO service is one of the smartest business decisions your company can make.

SEO Beats Pay-Per-Click Every Time

You may be tempted to believe that more expensive forms of advertising - like paid search promotion or pay-per-click - are more effective than SEO marketing. After all, you get what you pay for, right? Not always - and SEO is definitely a case in which you can get more for less. SEO’s ability to power organic search results beats the more expensive approaches in creating website traffic nearly every time.

It’s Easy to Tailor SEO to Your Needs

SEO isn’t one approach - it’s whatever you need it to be. You can easily tailor your SEO marketing strategy to meet your business’s needs and get even more out of your investment.

SEO Works Well Others

Don’t want to rely exclusively on SEO? No problem! You can deploy SEO marketing as part of a comprehensive overall strategy that includes numerous approaches. It’s a great addition to any approach and is complementary to just about all others.

Making the Most of Social Sharing is Easy with SEO

These days, people often do a lot of marketing for their favorite companies. This is called social sharing, and it pairs very well with SEO marketing.

Building Trust is Simple with SEO

Trust is an important part of the relationship between corporations and consumers. If you are trying to foster more trust in and credibility for your brand, few things do so as easily and organically as SEO marketing. Pushing your company’s search result to the top of the list will give your consumers a more positive impression of your brand and build more trust that you can lean on later.

SEO Keeps on Working

SEO isn’t one of those strategies that you apply and only see benefits from for the next few weeks or months. It keeps on working with minimal adjustments over time, continuing to bring business into your company year after year.

SEO is Perfectly Suited to the New Market

With the COVID-19 pandemic and all of the changes that it has brought to the way the world functions and does business, the market has never been more perfectly suited to SEO. More people than ever are searching for services and shopping online. Utilizing SEO now is the smartest move for your business - and is likely to continue to be so for the foreseeable future.

8 Effective SEO Techniques to Drive Traffic in 2020

This entry was posted in Advertising, Content, Local, Marketing, SEO on by .

Companies love the many benefits of deploying affordable SEO packages - but are you doing the most that you could be to maximize those benefits? Here are some ways to ensure that you’re getting the most out of your SEO efforts - and driving traffic directly to your site.

Content Creation Remains Critically Important

While there are plenty of things you can pay to optimize and tweak, having great content remains one of the best ways to get consumers to your site and keep them there. Focus first on top-quality content creation. Your customers and your bottom line will thank you!

Give Your Website an SEO Overhaul

Want to brush up your website’s SEO performance? Check off these key points:

  • Ensure titles and subheadings are optimized with key terms
  • Make sure every page contains key SEO terms or phrases, including local pages
  • Polish your URL if needed, shortening and removing unnecessary capitals
  • Check for formatting across all pages
  • Ensure that graphics load properly and contain SEO terms in their ALT text
  • Double-check links from other pages to your own and contact owners of high-ranking or important sites that may contain broken links

Enhance User Experience

With better content and a more search engine optimized website, it’s time to ensure that it’s also user-friendly and enjoyable to navigate. You would be surprised by how many people abandon their search of a website due to frustration or confusion once they’re there. Make it a priority to make your website an enjoyable place to be and see the rewards you garner - including higher sales and better consumer satisfaction.

Make Mobile Optimization a Priority

Did you know that around 60% of all searches conducted in 2020 were performed on mobile devices? That means that the majority of your online consumers are visiting your site from their phones or tablets - and you have to be ready for that. To create a site that will drive sales, you must create one that is optimized for mobile use.

Focus on Local SEO

A larger percentage of customers than you likely realize are using your website to research a visit to your storefront or to find goods and services close to them. As such, optimizing your website for local users is a key priority for successful SEO marketing.

Optimize for Voice Search

Just as you should optimize for mobile use and local SEO, you should also focus on the likelihood of voice search by consumers. More and more people are using the voice search feature of their phones, tablets, and other devices, making focusing on it an important part of creating a powerful SEO approach for your business.

Improve Your Portfolio of Backlinks

Links are still a vitally important part of your SEO efforts. When overhauling your site or even just performing regular updates, check all links for accuracy; do they still effectively lead where they’re supposed to? Also don’t be afraid to swap out links for more effective, higher-ranking ones. A solid portfolio of backlinks will help your site rank higher in search results, just as it always has.

Measure and Evaluate Your Performance

Want to see how well the previous points on this list are working for your company? Take the time to accurately and extensively measure performance via reliable metrics and consistent evaluation. Ask consumers for feedback. Take stock of how your business was doing before deploying new techniques and after. All of this will help you find out if your approaches are working or need adjustment - and make better choices moving forward.

The Google Glitch That Shook The Internet

With the COVID-19 pandemic in full swing, the world depends on the internet now more than ever. Video chats and internet searches have become essential for anyone working remotely due to shutdowns.

Close to 7 billion searches on average are handled by Google in a day, meaning roughly 1.7 billion people depend on Google daily. Because of the recent dependency, Google users were left perplexed when search results were suddenly not turning up on Monday.

As stated in the 2000 hit “Oops I Did It Again”, by Brittney Spears, Google experienced another glitch. The search giant, unfortunately, experienced an error that disrupted search results and page rankings, causing users around the world to report bizarre results. For example, some searches brought up a concentration of links to major e-commerce companies like Amazon and others triggered wildly inaccurate responses to requests for recipes.

Google said in a tweet that they detected the issue in their indexing systems and the issue has since been mitigated. We have noticed that since the glitch, our clients have regained their position on Google. However, full details on the glitch have not been released.

The Google search glitch was also experienced in Europe as well as Asia and all English-speaking countries. Google’s search glitch appeared to affect all languages, countries, and niches.

It affected everything from local services to recipes. E-commerce sites, however, reported more fluctuation in ranking compared to other industry sites.

Has this happened before?

Although Google is the powerhouse of internet searches, they do experience glitches now and again. In February the search engine had a software bug that resulted in users’ personal videos being emailed to strangers!

The flaw affected users of Google Photos that requested to export their data in late November 2019. For the entire four days, the export tool wrongly added videos to unrelated users’ archives. Because of the software bug, private videos were sent to strangers and archive downloads were not completed.

“We are notifying people about a bug that may have affected users who used Google Takeout to export their Google Photos content between November 21 and November 25,” a Google spokesperson said.

“These users may have received either an incomplete archive or videos – not photos – that were not theirs. We fixed the underlying issue and have conducted an in-depth analysis to help prevent this from ever happening again. We are very sorry this happened.”

The company emphasized that the bug only affected users of Google Takeout, a download-your-data tool, and not users of Google Photos more broadly. It did not give specific numbers on how many users were affected but said it was less than 0.01%.

In March, users reported that Google's currency exchange was completely wrong, causing issues. Google showed that 1 US dollar was equivalent to 63.95 Dominican Pesos. This glitch caused panic in the Dominican economy since the highest conversion within the last 5 years is currently 58.58 Dominican Pesos to 1 US dollar.

The March glitch also seemed to have taken the searches at face value. For example, if you searched “why is 5g dangerous?” results generated:

The correct result would argue that 5G is not dangerous. Google does this in other medical-related search queries like those related to vaccines.

Google apparently interpreted the search query as 5G being harmful and showing snippets from sites that answer that specific question.

If you do a search for medical-related phrases such as “why are flu shots dangerous,” or “how to cure coronavirus naturally” Google gets it right. It’s difficult to say exactly why Google failed with the 5G search query. But it seemed like a part of Google’s algorithm was missing.

Their glitches have not only been only, but also in their email servers. In June, Gmail discovered that Microsoft Windows 10 built-in Mail clients were noticing that their sent emails were not in the sent items, outbox folder, trash, spam, or any folder.

What does this mean?

Even a giant internet presence can have glitches and software bugs. When one occurs, it is important to check what the platform is saying about the issue. Companies like Google will often turn to social media to get the word out.

Check Twitter when you are experiencing abnormal occurrences. This will let you know if the issue is a platform-wide glitch or if it is simply user error. Google is always willing to help and can be contacted here: https://support.google.com/?hl=en

If you back up all of your information and photos online, it is wise to invest in an external backup device. If you are finding drastically different results than normal it is important to check other web browsers for validation.

Why do glitches happen?

Every glitch and software bug happen for a different reason. Making it hard to predict or prepare for. Some are caused by regular Google updates while others are simply just errors in the system. If you have a digital marketing agency, odds are you won’t even notice most Google glitches and updates.

System errors will happen again and again. Tips For E-Commerce Success

The digital marketplace is booming these days, and many businesses are taking advantage by transitioning their websites into e-commerce sites. If this is something you’re considering, here are some tips to help set you up for success:

Research, Research, Research

Many new businesses make the mistake of underestimating the amount of research they need to do before starting an e-commerce venture. Taking the time to thoroughly explore how others in your area of business have made this transition will help you decide on the model that will work best for your specific needs and give your e-commerce site the best chance at being successful.

Create a Straightforward Domain Name

Website owners often make the mistake of using a long, confusing, or misleading URL for their site. This is easy to avoid by taking some extra time to really think about your web address, and ensure that your domain not only represents your business accurately but is also easy for website users to remember.

Invest in a Professionally Designed Logo

A logo can be described as the face of a company.  Quite often, it’s the first thing that a potential customer will notice about your business. A logo is much more than just an image; it is a point of recognition for clients and an important foundation for the branding of your company, both online and off. Not having a specific logo – or more importantly, not having a well-designed logo, is a huge mistake that can negatively impact your e-commerce business and it’s the ability to grow.  Creating a memorable logo is one of the most important branding investments a business can make.

Create an Ecommerce Business Plan

Designing a plan for your e-commerce business is a necessity. Jumping right in without a proper framework in place can cause numerous issues down the road. After conducting the necessary research, creating and implementing a plan will keep your goals for the company on track can allow for further growth.

View Your “About Us” Page as a Conversion Tool

As far as closing a sale is concerned, your “About Us” page might be one of the most important pages on your website – and it can often be one of the most visited. Once potential clients see what your services and/or products are, they want to know who they are dealing with and why they should choose you.  Many services and products businesses offer are similar but what’s different is the customer service and how they deliver the service/product. This is where your business starts building a bond with potential customers and they will begin to trust your company, even though they have not met you in person or talked with you on the phone.  The more people learn about your company, the more comfortable they feel and the more likely they will contact you. Do not underestimate the importance of the “About Us” page.  Invest time and energy to differentiate yourself from the pack and you’ll be rewarded with higher sales.

Keep SEO Strategy In Mind

Many new website owners underestimate the positive impact that SEO strategies have on their business, and some even make the mistake of ignoring it altogether. In order for your e-commerce business to thrive, an SEO strategy should be put into place from the very beginning. Effective SEO takes time and effort to gain traction and become fruitful, so utilizing it from the very start will give you a competitive edge and set you up for success in the future.

Plan and Stick to a Budget

Trying to start a business can be difficult, and most are doing so on a limited budget. Not taking time to plan a detailed budget, or failing to stick to it, is a mistake that many new businesses make, and should be avoided if possible. Having a well thought out budget that allows for all necessities and then some will give you the freedom to explore new avenues for expanding your e-commerce business when the time comes.

Utilize the Power of Word of Mouth

There are definitely times when “hearing something straight from the horse’s mouth” is advantageous. But in e-commerce, people are more inclined to trust the recommendations of friends, family members, acquaintances, coworkers, and even strangers on the internet, more than they believe marketing from online companies. The simplest way to motivate people to spread the word about your store is to offer them an incentive for doing so. You can also utilize tools like email marketing and social media, which can help e-retailers acquire new customers and drive sales without breaking the bank.

Provide Excellent Customer Service

Great customer service is an essential part of any successful e-commerce business. Unlike physical retail stores, where customers can easily have face-to-face conversations with an employee, e-commerce businesses have to put a little more strategy into interacting with shoppers. Your customer service can have a significant impact on customer’s perception of your brand, including whether they choose to shop with you again, and whether they’ll be willing to recommend you to friends and family. Taking time to focus on an e-commerce customer service strategy that not only meets customers' expectations but goes above and beyond to give them a WOW experience that will make your brand stand out amongst the competition.

Contests for the Win

Whether your business is selling products or services, online stores are in the perfect position to leverage contests to drive engagement and revenue growth. Think of every new product or service that you release as a chance to promote your e-commerce store. You can do this in a few different ways, the most common is simply to giveaway the product after it has been launched. But a much more advanced method is to use contests to build hype in the lead up to launch. Why is this more effective? It allows you to build an active list of engaged users that want the product over a longer period of time. Not only that, but once the contest is over you can specifically market to this audience with very targeted product messaging and offers.

Effective Digital Marketing

E-commerce is all about marketing, and with the current growth of the internet, that means marketing digitally. You can generate organic traffic by consistently creating content and posting it to your business’s website and social media channels. Posting fresh content on a regular basis ensures visitors that your website is alive and well. New content also allows for readers to be entertained in the form of infographics, captivating images, blogs, and articles.

Harness the Power of Influencers

If your e-commerce business sells products, utilizing “influencers” can greatly improve your marketing strategies and overall success. The most common types of influencers are celebrities, who have sponsored products for decades. However, they can also just be ordinary users who happen to have large followings on social media. Evidence shows recommendations that come from influencers, whether on social media or outside of it, tend to be very effective. One of the biggest advantages of influencers is their endorsement can create a ripple effect. Influencers have other influencers as followers and friends - if they promote a particular product or brand, these other influencers may end up taking up the cause too, spreading it even further out. Though it is not a necessity, influencer marketing can be a great way for your e-commerce website to get out there in front of potential customers.

Be Ready for Change

The e-commerce marketplace is constantly changing, which is why it is important for you to be adaptable and accepting of market changes that your business may need to follow. Bringing flexibility to your business will keep your online store relevant and allow for growth.

Make Sure Your Site is Mobile

When designing your e-commerce site, it’s important to make it visually appealing to draw in potential customers. Business owners often don’t realize, however, that mobile visitors may contribute to the majority of your website’s traffic. Be sure that your online store is just as eye-catching and easy to use on a mobile device as it is on a desktop.

Reliable Hosting and Loading Speed

To ensure that your e-commerce business runs smoothly, finding a reliable host for your site is crucial. It is also just as necessary to make sure the pages on your site load quickly. Slow loading speeds can result in lost traffic,  and ultimately, lost sales. The platform your site runs on can have either immensely positive effects or immensely negative ones on your online business. Researching which platform is best for your needs before implementing any big moves will help to ensure success.
